Mike Woods Retires After 10 State Titles

For nearly three decades, legendary Hamilton Huskies head coach Mike Woods built one of the premier high school baseball programs in Arizona. Now, after capturing the program’s 10th AIA State Championship in 2026, Woods officially steps away from the dugout, leaving behind a legacy that stretches far beyond wins and trophies.

Since taking over the program in 1999, Woods transformed Hamilton into a powerhouse known across the state and nation. Under his leadership, the Huskies consistently competed at the highest level, producing championship teams, elite college athletes, and numerous professional and MLB players. His ability to develop talent and build a winning culture became the standard for Arizona high school baseball.

Ending his coaching career with another state championship feels fitting for one of Arizona’s most respected coaches. Mike Woods leaves Hamilton baseball not only with 10 state titles, but with a lasting legacy that will continue to influence the game for years to come.
