Hamilton High School claimed its 10th state championship last night in dramatic fashion, battling back after trailing by seven runs early against Corona del Sol High School.
The Aztecs came out hot in the second inning and looked in control early, but Hamilton slowly shifted the momentum back their way. The Huskies chipped away inning by inning, continuing to put runs on the board while their defense shut down Corona del Sol’s offense the rest of the night.
Junior pitcher Dean Thompson was named MVP after throwing five innings with four strikeouts and helping hold off the Aztecs during the comeback effort.

At the plate, Ben Ball delivered a huge performance with both a double and triple to help spark the Huskies offensively. Parker Rahn added to the momentum as well, launching a home run during the championship win.
After falling behind early, Hamilton stayed composed and turned the game around to secure another championship trophy for the program.
