ACP Wins First State Title in Program History

Arizona College Prep made history Tuesday night, capturing the first baseball state championship in program history with a dominant 11-3 win over Horizon High School.

The Knights came out aggressive early and never looked back, controlling the game on both sides from start to finish. ACP’s offense stayed hot throughout the night, with Austin Longfellow and Ashton Sanchez both launching home runs in the championship matchup.

Sanchez was later named the Media Selected MVP after helping lead the Knights offensively in one of the biggest games in school history.

On the mound, Clayton Nachman delivered a strong performance, throwing five innings with four strikeouts while keeping Horizon from building momentum offensively.

ACP continued to add runs throughout the game while the defense stayed composed behind Nachman, helping secure the historic win.

After years of building the program, the Knights can now officially call themselves state champions.
