Sun Devils Conclude Fall Camp

With the end of this week's fall camp for the Sun Devils it left with some valuable takeaways and points of interest regarding the team’s readiness leading up to week one.

Ending week three into fall camp Coach Dillingham still has yet to make a clear cut announcement on who will be the starting quarterback between Cutter Boley and Mikey Keene against Morgan State ,which may be the biggest question mark for this team at the moment. However, the defensive side of the team is not in question at all.

Dillingham has continued to praise the defense and their effort all fall camp with their ability to make plays and get after the ball. Specifically the defensive backs and safeties and their level of play in practice. “I love the length of that group, I think we have four or five guys we feel that can start for us in our league,” said Dillingham.

Now although the defense has been stellar in the last few practices and even at Camp Tontozona. The offense seemingly has some areas of improvement in the upcoming weeks before the first game. Monday and Tuesday were both days the offense struggled in team periods and 7-on-7 but with Omarion Miller returning to practice on Wednesday gave hope to the wide receiver room being at full throttle for the starting quarterback.

With Miller being the WR1 on the field it significantly opens the offense up to operate more effectively. As well as creating opportunities for other players such as Clayton Smith who was just moved back to the Tight End position to add to the weapons the quarterback will have at his disposal.

Now the offense gained some momentum in a positive direction on Wednesday as Boley opened the practice up with a drive down field and a touchdown which was an offense spark for the team. But with the team still finding their rhythm it will be interesting to see who emerges as the starting quarterback for week one and who is willing to lead this Sun Devil team this season.
