Position: Broadcast Production Intern

Location: Phoenix, Arizona (NOTE: This role will be expected to travel to the east and west valley for game coverage.)

Job Type: Hybrid (NOTE: Applicant is expected to be at games in-person, edit on site or remotely.)

Bamboo Sports Media is an Arizona-based sports media company focused on covering high school athletics through photography, videography, journalism, live broadcasting, and social media storytelling. Founded by Jonathan Olden, Bamboo Sports Media has grown into one of Arizona’s emerging independent sports media outlets, producing content seen by thousands of athletes, families, schools, and fans across the state.

We cover sports throughout Arizona with a focus on delivering professional-level content for high school athletics, including game coverage, live broadcasts, interviews, feature stories, highlights, social media content, and championship event coverage.

Job Summary:

The Broadcast Production Intern at Bamboo Sports Media will assist with live sports broadcasts, TV-style productions, and stadium AV operations during sporting events throughout Arizona. Interns will work alongside the Bamboo Sports Media broadcast team helping produce live streams, game coverage, replay systems, graphics, audio, and in-venue productions.
 

This role is designed for individuals interested in live sports broadcasting, production operations, and game-day media environments who want hands-on experience working behind the scenes of live sports coverage.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with setup and breakdown of broadcast equipment
     

  • Operate cameras during live broadcasts and productions
     

  • Assist with replay systems, graphics, and audio operations
     

  • Support TV broadcast productions and live streaming operations
     

  • Assist with stadium AV and video board productions
     

  • Work alongside commentators, producers, and camera operators
     

  • Help troubleshoot technical and production issues during events
     

  • Maintain professionalism while representing Bamboo Sports Media at events

Education/Requirements:

  • Current enrollment at a two-year or four-year college or university in Arizona as of Fall 2026
     

  • Interest in live sports broadcasting and production
     

  • Ability to work nights and weekends during sporting events
     

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
     

  • Ability to work in fast-paced live event environments
     

  • Willingness to learn broadcast equipment and production workflows
     

  • Professional attitude and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with live streaming or broadcast production
     

  • Basic understanding of camera operation and audio systems
     

  • Experience with broadcasting software such as vMix, OBS, or similar platforms
     

  • Familiarity with replay systems, graphics, or scoreboard/video board operations
     

  • Interest in TV production, sports broadcasting, or stadium AV
     

  • Understanding of sports
     

  • Ability to adapt and problem solve during live productions
