Job Summary:

The Multimedia Journalist at Bamboo Sports Media will cover Arizona high school sports through written articles, video storytelling, interviews, and on-camera reporting. This role is designed for individuals passionate about sports journalism and digital media who want hands-on experience covering live sporting events and creating engaging sports content.

Multimedia Journalists will work directly with the Bamboo Sports Media team to produce game recaps, feature stories, athlete interviews, stand-up reports, and social media content while helping tell the stories of athletes, teams, and communities throughout Arizona.

Job Duties:

• Write articles, game recaps, and feature stories
   

• Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches, and community members
   

• Create video stories and stand-up reports
   

• Assist with live event coverage and media day productions
   

• Collaborate with photographers, videographers, and social media staff
   

• Research storylines, statistics, and game information
   

• Assist with posting journalism-related content to social media platforms
   

• Maintain professionalism while representing Bamboo Sports Media at events
   

• Help develop creative storytelling ideas and sports coverage concepts

Education/Requirements:

• Current enrollment at a two-year or four-year college or university
   

• Strong writing, communication, and storytelling skills
   

• Passion for sports journalism and media
   

• Ability to work nights and weekends during sporting events
   

• Comfortable conducting interviews and communicating with athletes/coaches
   

• Ability to work in fast-paced environments and meet deadlines
   

• Strong professionalism and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience writing articles, sports recaps, or feature stories
   

• Experience with video production or on-camera reporting
   

• Knowledge of Arizona high school sports
   

• Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or CapCut
   

• Familiarity with social media content creation
   

• Basic photography or videography experience
   

• Ability to create engaging digital and video storytelling content
